Register - Become an Easel patron by providing your contact and
payment information through our easy to use registration process.
Registering entitles you to both buy art and submit it to Easel
for sale in one of our Galleries. Registering is easy and risk-free:
as our Privacy Policy explains, we never sell or trade your data
with third parties, and you won't be bombarded with spam. Easel
only emails updates and news to those of its customers who wish
to receive that information.
|
| 2. |
Browse - Buying art has never been easier. Browse, and when you
find what you want, just click to buy. Easel takes care of the rest.
|
| 3. |
Accept - No sale is final until you've accepted the purchased
item (at Easel, we call items for sale in our Galleries "Gallery
Submissions"). With Gallery Submissions you purchase by downloading
- such as music from the Hear Gallery - you have the opportunity
to sample the Gallery Submission before you download, so you'll
be asked to accept the purchase before the download begins. With
Gallery Submission that we have to ship to you, you'll be asked
to inspect the Gallery Submission when we ship it to you, and then
tell us you accept it by signing the form our shipper provides you.
|
| When you purchase a Gallery Submission, everyone gets
involved. Easel, the patron making the purchase, and the Artist making
the sale each has to do their part to complete the purchase.
We give you more information about our shipping and return policies
below.

Shipping - Easel's Part
Easel does everything it can to make selling and buying art through
Easel's Galleries as simple as possible. |
| 1. |
Easel allows the sale to happen. Easel will
do everything it can to make Easel's online Galleries a great place
to buy and sell art. When a patron wants to buy, Easel immediately
informs the Artist of the order and asks for confirmation of the sale
from the Artist.
|
| 2. |
Easel arranges for shipping. Easel arranges shipping through
its network of qualified shipping partners.
|
| 3. |
Easel arranges for payment of the shipper. When
a patron purchases a Gallery submission online, as the Artist's agent,
Easel automatically arranges for shipping and payment of the shipper
out of the purchaser's payment.
|
| |
|
Shipping - The Artist's Part
The Artist has three basic obligations in every purchase of one
of its Gallery Submissions:
|
| 1. |
The Artist accepts the purchase order. Patron purchases
(other than downloads) require Artist acceptance. Within five (5)
days of Easel notifying the Artist that Easel has received a purchase
order for one of the Artist's Gallery Submissions, the Artist must
confirm with Easel or with the shipper that the Artist will ship
the Gallery Submission. If, for any reason, the Artist fails to
provide Easel or the Authorized Shipper with that confirmation,
or at any time fails to ship a purchased Gallery Submission, Easel
may cancel the purchase order and charge the Artist an administrative
fee. The Administrative fee comprises a $10 re-stocking fee and
an amount equal to 6% of the purchase price of the Gallery Submission.
|
| 2. |
The Artist takes responsibility for shipping.
Although Easel arranges the shipper, it does so on the Artist's behalf.
As between the shipper and the Artist, the Artist is responsible for
all shipping fees, including related fees such as brokerage fees and
customs duties, if any (although as between the patron and the Artist,
the patron is ultimately responsible for payment of all such fees).
Easel, as the Artist's agent, will pay the shipper on the Artist's
behalf out of the money the patron paid to purchase the Gallery Submission.
That money includes sums to cover taxes and shipping and insurance
fees, and authorization to cover any extra shipping fees Easel unexpectedly
incurs in shipping the purchased Gallery Submission.
|
| 3. |
The Artist makes shipping happen. The Artist
has the option of either: (a) dropping the purchased Gallery Submission
off at the shipper's depot, or (b) having the shipper come and pick
up the purchased Gallery Submission. It is also the Artist's responsibility
to ensure that Easel has accurate information necessary for shipment
of the Gallery Submission, including accurate weight and dimensions.
Should actual fees incurred by the shipper exceed the pre-paid estimate
because the Artist has provided inaccurate weight and height dimension,
Easel will deduct funds in excess of such pre-paid fees from the purchase
price paid by the purchaser in respect of the Gallery Submission.
If the Artist ships the wrong item, Easel will deduct all unnecessarily
incurred shipping fees from the purchase price.
|
Shipping - The Patron's Part
The patron also has three basic obligations to make a sale happen:
|
| 1. |
The Patron makes the Purchase. The patron is
ultimately responsible for all fees involved in purchasing and shipping
a Gallery Submission, including the purchase price, the shipping fees,
insurance fees, taxes and all customs, brokerage, and other such fees.
Based upon the information the Artist and patron provide, Easel calculates
the total estimated fees involved in the purchase and shipping (including
insurance purchased by the patron at the time of the order) and charges
that sum to the patron's credit card.
|
| 2. |
The Patron insures the Gallery Submission. Liability
for all damage and risk of loss to a purchased Gallery Submission
passes to the patron on shipping. It is the patron's responsibility
to insure the Gallery Submission on transit.
|
| 3. |
The Patron Accepts the Delivery. The patron will
have the opportunity to inspect a purchased Gallery Submission on
delivery. No purchase is final unless the patron accepts the purchase.
Patrons accept purchases by sending an email to Easel using the email
address Easel supplies for that purpose. If the patron does not accept
the purchased Gallery Submission, the patron indicates rejection by
immediately informing Easel and the Shipper of the rejection and the
reason for it via the email Easel supplies patrons for that purpose.
Patrons are responsible for all shipping fees for both the purchase
and return of the Gallery Submission - shipping expenses are non-refundable
(unless the Authorized Shipper refunds shipping costs to Easel). If
a patron fails to indicate its acceptance or rejection of the purchase,
Easel will deem the patron to have accepted the Gallery Submission
on the 30th day following its delivery.
|
What if the Gallery Submission Gets Lost? On
occasion, technical problems may delay or prevent delivery of purchased
Gallery Submissions. For such items, on the patron's request, Easel
will at its option either replace the item or offer the patron a refund.
