The Architects, a lot like the ideals and principles of simple small towns, build their songs from the ground up, with no pretensions and no attempt at being conventional. They are a four piece rock and roll group that toy with a mixture of indie rock and alt-country energy. This is a band that pride themselves on one thing first, good songwriting. The Architects formed in June of 2004 when their project of “back up band” for singer/songwriter Trevor Strange took on a life of its own. The change was evidently necessary as the songs began to develop their own chemistry with each individual member. It was at that point that the guys thought it might be suitable to call themselves The Architects, not to mention the inspiration from a Decemberists song that inevitably sealed the deal.
